Meet Reyna
Reyna St. James is a Connecticut based, classically trained actor with nine years of experience on stage and screen. She received her MFA in Acting from Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts and Shakespeare’s Globe (the classical literature nerd in her was thrilled). She is currently teaching Stage Combat and Intimacy, at one of the top conservatory programs in the country.
She is an accent buff and loves to bring different voices into play in her work, grounded in Fitzmaurice and Linklater vocal techniques. Her warm, melodic, and wry voice brings epic journeys and feral, wild women off the page (growing up in Colorado riding horses jump started her obsession with fantastical worlds). Whether in a sweeping fantasy world or one very much like our own, she is passionate about diving into adventurous stories and portraying people searching for connection. And like any well-done pastry, she loves layered relationships and emotionally complex stories like those in Romances, Romantasies, Military Sci-Fi’s or Rom Com’s.
As a biracial woman she is passionate about connecting with texts that illuminate the complex journey of identity; Stories with characters who are fighting to be fully themselves in worlds that may not accept them, and their own search for self-acceptance and community.
When she’s not in the booth, she loves to go on long hikes with her two dogs and identify the variety of trees in her area. And is still wild about gymnastics, basketball, and football (having either participated in them directly or cheered on from the sidelines).
She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, AEA, APA and PANA.
